Enjoy Yor Day!

Sorry there is no Chocolate Sunday this week we just got home from family camp and I didn't have any time to make something before we left on Friday! Family camp was a blast! Family camp is when our church family gets together and stays at a bible camp, every family has their own room or cabin, the food is catered by the camp staff, and we have a speaker come, but most of the time is spent fellow shipping. It was so funny the had a 50's drive in movie last night and everybody made a 50's cardboard car to watch the movie in, wow there were some pretty great cars! They also had a ladies spa treatment so nice, paraffin wax, massage, pedicure, manicure and chocolate fountain mmmm....!

I just made this card for today's featured stamper's challenge the feature stamper is Cindy Haffner she has a great gallery! I chose to do her Pink Bugs card. I am going to try to get another one done today. If you would like to try this challange you can do so here FS12: By POPULAR demand!!!!

I also wanted to leave you with the chocolate rant once again as sometimes I think it needs repeating.... LOL!

Supplies: Bugs and Kisses, Riveting, Fancy Flexible Phrases, Elegant Eggplant, Real Red, Cool Caribbean, and WW card stock, Real Red, Elegant Eggplant inks, Cuttlbug, Scalloped Circle punches, Circle punches, Oval punch, Marker, Brads, Ribbon and Dimensionals.

Chocolate: Luscious, Lumpy. Load of Love......

…And oh how we all love it . Someone (a friends husband) recently said to me that they didn’t understand why “Us Women” love chocolate so much , and that comment really upset me, it should be obvious why we love it so much , but for “Those People” (men) whom don’t get it , here goes…lol.
It only makes sense to start off with a great quote from a great character , Forrest gump immortalized by Tom Hanks "Life is like a box of chocolates -- you never know what you're going to get." everyone knows everything Tom Hanks says is right , we love Tom. Life without chocolate is like a beach without water. Chocolate is nature’s way of making up for Mondays. They say man cannot live on chocolate alone; but woman sure can. There are four basic food groups-milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, and chocolate truffles. Chocolate in the morning is what makes moms get through their day! If not for chocolate, there would be no need for control top pantyhose. An entire garment industry would be devastated. Chocolate builds character , strength is the capacity to break a chocolate bar into four pieces with your bare hands-and then eat just one of the pieces. The chocoholics 12-step program: NEVER BE MORE THAN 12 STEPS AWAY FROM CHOCOLATE .I could give up chocolate but I'm not a quitter. Chocolate is cheaper than therapy and you don’t need an appointment. I know all I really need is love, and I have that, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt. I have this theory that chocolate slows down the aging process.... It may not be true, but do I dare take the chance? Chocolate causes certain endocrine glands to secrete hormones that affect your feelings and behavior by making you happy. Therefore, it counteracts depression, in turn reducing the stress of depression. Your stress-free life helps you maintain a youthful disposition, both physically and mentally, so scientifically chocolate makes you younger. Chemically speaking, chocolate really is the world's perfect food. Nothing brings people together more than chocolate, there's nothing better than a good friend, except a good friend with CHOCOLATE, giving chocolate to others is an intimate form of communication, a sharing of deep, dark secrets. And remember : Betty Crocker said “And Above All…Think Chocolate!” would she lie…didn’t think so. I find myself saying “Put the chocolate in the bag and nobody gets hurt.” and all the cashiers in my town know not to mess with me! Because Chocolate: Here today...Gone today! Chocolate wasn’t even meant to last , have you ever seen a chocolate bar with an expiration date! Nine out of ten people like chocolate…yeah right… the tenth person always lies. Any SANE person loves chocolate. Simply put... everyone has a price, mine is chocolate!

Beautiful Blossoms!

Today's way to use it challenge was to use Orchid Opulence one of the colors that hardly gets used. I decided to make a tri-fold blossom card I actually love the blossoms in this color! I have noticed that my lilac tree is starting for it's blossoms, it should be in full bloom by mother's day. I love lilacs they are so pretty and the smell fabulous! If you would like to try this challenge you can do so here WT110 - Orchid Opulence

To make this card I marked one long end at 3" and the other side at 5.5", lined up the marks in the cutter and cut. So you would actually be cutting on a diagonal. Then I scored at 4.25" from the tall side, and scored again at 3.75" from the first score line not from the end. Then I used a sponge to sponge on some Always Artichoke next I used piece of scrunched up plastic and Always artichoke ink to sponge on the back ground color. Stamped the blossom and leave images, mounted on card stock and added ribbon!

Supplies used: Blossoms abound, Happy Harmony, Orchid Opulence, Always Artichoke and VV card stock, Orchid Opulence, Always Artichoke and Elegant Eggplant inks, Oval punch, Ribbon, Eyelet, Sponge, Plastic wrap, Stardust pen.

Happy 50th Birthday

Hi and welcome to Chocolate Sunday!! I decide to make a 2,4,6,8 box to celebrate Jason's Mom turning 50 this year! Instead of closing the box I left it open and made a box top for it. It is filled with Hershey Kisses New flavor Vanilla Cream MMMMM......! So how did I make this! Here are some detailed instructions.

The 2,4,6,8 box was made from a window sheet

2,4,6,8 Box instructions

1. Cut a sheet of card stock to 8 1/2" x 7 1/2".

2. Stamp sheet as desired. Or use a window sheet like I did.

3. Insert scoring blade on paper cutter. Score at 2", 4", 6" and 8" along the 8 1/2" length side of card stock piece. You will have a 1/2" section left over.

4. Turn card stock piece 90 degrees, and score entire length of card stock at the 2" mark. (Your scoring blade will travel 8-1/2" down.

5. Look at your scored card stock piece. Take scissors and trim off the 2" x 1/2" section (not the 5 1/2" x 1/2" section). *Note: The 5 1/2" x 2" sections are the box and the 2" x 2" sections are the box bottom.

6. Cut each 2" score mark along the 8 1/2" side. (You will be making three straight cuts, each along the 2" score marks). Do not cut beyond the long score mark running the length of the 8 1/2" side.

7. Fold along all score marks.

8. Place a section of sticky strip tape along the 5 1/2" x 1/2" flap on the decorated/stamped side. Seal the top part of the box closed.

9. Fold up the four 2" x 2" pieces; this is the bottom of your box. Use a sticky strip on the last 2" x 2" piece to seal the bottom of the box.

For the box top and bottom

1. Cut a piece of card stock to 8 1/2" by 3 1/2"

2. Score on the 8 1/2" side at 2",4",6" and 8" leaving a 1/2" tab.

3. Turn 90 degrees and score 1" this will be your scalloped edge.

4. Turn 180 degrees and score 1/2".

5. Cut off 1/2" tabs on all but one panel.

6. Remove one of the 2" by 2" panels

7. Fold scores and dry assemble box top.

8. Add sticky strip to 1/2" tabs and attach.

9. Repeat for bottom.

Wild Birthday

This is my card for today's Limited Supply Challenge on SCS. The challenge was to make birthday cards with animals, bugs, and/or creepy crawly creatures. So, what's the catch? You have only 45 minutes to make your card.

45 minutes..... Gulp!! Well this is what I came up with so I didn't have time to think of a great layout, so the layout is plain because I spent all my time on the focal point, cutting, cutting, cutting, but I made the time line!

Surprising I can do anything with this darned cold, fever, chill, stuffy head..... YUCK!! I want it to go away! However on the bright side it is a gorgeous day outside and the kiddies are home for a pro D day, so we are picking up hubby from work at lunch and treating him to a lunch at Mickey D's!

All the animals except the giraffe were stamped with versa mark and pastels were used for shading. The giraffe was stamped with Summer sun on Morning Marigold, the spots were punched out and it was matted on dimensionals on top of Close to Cocoa I love this effect. The lion was stamped on So Saffron and I cut out a second main for him in Pumpkin Pie which has a dimensional under it to raise it a bit, the I adhered a So Saffron Face.

Supplies Used: Wild about You, AYC II, Real Red,Pretty in pink, Black, Bashful Blue, Green Galore, Morning Marigold, Sahara Sand, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Close to Cocoa card stock, Black, Summer Sun and Vers Mark Inks, Markers, Pastels, Dimensionals, Eyelet punch, Ribbon, Corner Rounder and Birthday hat punches and Balloon Die cuts.

Spread Your Love

I am just loving this set, the butterflies are so pretty! I wish you could see it for real, you lose a lot of the sparkle in the picture, I tried at every angle and every kind of light but could not fully capture the brilliance.

Whew glad to be getting back to normal around here, they kids are back at school today they have been off since Thursday. Today is also the last days of my ladies study group, kind of sad to see it end but at the same time happy to see it end KWIM? I have also started babysitting the neighbours 1 yo daughter this last month and boy do I have to tell you I AM SO OUT OF PRACTICE! She is a great baby but I forgot how much work they can be, I guess at least now I can stop taking for granted how independent my kids have become.

Have a great day!
