Gorgeous Flower

I love this flower from Lizzie Anne Designs it is so purty! I love this layout I first used it when Markie's Mom was the featured stamper, but I love it and have used it a few times since. In these colors which are from today's color challenge, it reminds me of a lily pad flower. The colors for the challenge today were Pretty in Pink, Purely Pomegranate (or Baroque Burgundy) and old Olive.

I am so glad you got a chuckle out of my story yesterday! The rest of the day went somewhat better, and the blue finally came all the way off today after 2 showers and a bath, washable my butt!

Most people who know me know that I have terrible luck or what I like to call myself a victim of Murphy's Law....LOL! Bad for me entertaining to everyone else......ROTFLMBO!!! No it is entertaining to me too, since I'm not a crier I have to laugh it off!

Supplies: Baroque Motifs, Jolies Fleurs, Pretty in Pink, Baroque Burgundy, old Olive, black, ticket corner punch, cuttlebug, Brads, Scalloped circle and square punches, and dimesionals.

OK Here's my Story!

For those of you who frequent SCS you may have come across Mothermark's Gallery and if you haven't check it out is is so awesome and she has a story to go with every card, so today I feel like I need to tell you the story of my card.

So here's my story

1. I woke up looking forward to trying today's challenge, log on to SCS to find the challenge is emboss resist and ghosting cool I have done emboss resist before but not ghosting, well heck I'm always up for a challenge.

2. Head down to my studio, Ummmmm Where's my table?! Oh yea I crafted yesterday so it is buried under a sea of paper, embellishments, ribbon, laundry???? don't know how that got there??

3. Clear myself a 8"x8" space to work in, no kidding actually 8"x8" space! OK so now what are we going to work with, Baroque Motifs is still out from yesterday sounds good to me don't have to go look for something else. So far everything is good.

4. Find glossy paper a chore in my mess, none the less I find it, now off to dig out the versa mark, find the embossing powder, brayer and ink. OK after an exhaustive search I locate all the supplies took 1/2 hour to find everything *whew* mental note clean studio!

5. Decided on using my Blue frost spectrum pad have had it for 3 years and this is the first time it has be used, give myself a good whats for whos for over buying things and not using them.

6. So now I stamp the flourish, wowwee pretty, I have to say this every time, embossing it the ghost in the flowers OK here is where it started to go sideways, brayer the ink on, now here is the first problem my tiny work space is now blue as well as my hands and face dang itchy nose! So now I need to remove the ink from the embossing!

7. Reach for a sock of course! Why you ask because there is laundry on my table and who knows where the paper towel is hiding?? Now the sock is a brilliant color of blue, probably will never be white again!

8. Finish dressing up the image with bling and mat it on white so far so good.

9. Off to locate my brilliant blue paper, Hmmmm it seems to be missing........ That's right i don't have any cause i never use that color! Ok now what start over??? NO WAY!! Not after turning myself and everything around me blue not to mention destroying a perfectly good sock.

10. OK think maybe I could use another shade of blue, no none of them match, what about silver?? Hmmm can't find it my mess *really have to clean this area* OK here's a plan I can make blue paper with my brayer and ink like I did for the image.

11. So now I am pretty much committed to finishing this card, so I get the glossy paper and use my brayer and ink to color it blue, so now I am blue from head to toe!! Megan thinks this is so very funny and would like to join in the fun, so she starts turning her paper blue, now we are both blue from head to toe!!

12. I finish the card cursing myself for not knowing when to stop, add bling on the corners decide I don't like it, too late it pulls a circle of color off, OK put bling back on and leave it, I just want this over and would like not to be blue anymore!!

13. Get up to got up stairs, remember I need to close the door to outside, I leave it open so the dogs can go potty, anyhoo I go to close the door, wouldn't you know it there is a bee there, so I frantically shoo the bee outside and away from the door and here is the highlight of it all!!!

You ready.......!!! I stepped in dog crap with bare feet!!!! YUCK!!! so I drag myself carefully up the stairs, don't want to get poo on the floor or blue on the walls!! I Get upstairs and throw my smurf looking, poo covered body into the shower!!

So the moral of the story is.....heck i don't know.....don't get up on Mondays!!!

Supplies: Baroque Motifs, Glossy white paper, Blue Frost spectrum pad, ribbon, dimensionals and bling!

Sweet!

Today's Limited Supply Challenge was to:

1. Choose one or more stamps that haven't seen ink in a long time.

2. Choose an old sketch challenge

3. Choose an old color challenge.

4. Choose 1 or 2 embellishments. Try and choose something you've been hoarding.

5. Use any tools.

That's what I call a challenge! I had a tough time picking what I wanted to do......... so many good sketch challenge and color challenges! I finally narrowed it down to Sketch challenge 98 and Color Challenge 112 any pink combo, you know how I love pink *wink*. For my embellishments I chose Ribbon and Chipboard, and for my neglected set I chose So very!

So I didn't find anytime to stamp last night by the time we finished dinner, I was pretty much ready for bed, I have been so tired lately by 7 pm I am ready for bed I really do hope this passes soon.

Supplies: So very, Creative Memories Dusky paper pack, DP, Pixie Dust Versa Magic, Black ink, Ribbon, Chipboard, Crop-a-dile, Dimensionals.

Let It Snow Gift Boxes

I found this really cool Gift Box Project Pack by Colorbok at Wal-mart yesterday, it was only $9.98 Can. it has a total of 32 boxes plus, tags, icons and accents! They are super easy to put together and are gorgeous!! I love the colors and the sparkle, there are boxes without sparkle as well. Just had to share with all of you!!

Our trip to Wal-mart was a success, only one little melt down I am so pleased, we managed to get all their school clothes and on Friday we will go back for the supplies, didn't want to push Megan too far by staying another hour *wink* the clothes part took hours so Megan did awesome!!

Infused Motifs

Sorry about the glare on this card, the sunlight just bounces of the embossing, but i wanted you to see the embossing from this side because when I tilted the other way you lost the effect. Just a quick card I put together last night, I actually really like how it turned out. I love pink and brown together!!

I am off to do some back to school shopping with the girls this morning, a huge task Megan hates shopping so I am praying it will go well. If we can get it all done at Wal-mart we should be fine she loves Wal-mart, but a mall or anything like it now away, it is a full out assault on her senses, so much noise, smells, visual stimuli, and people. I can't even imagine what a trip to the grocery store is like with someone with autism must just be a nightmare for her.

Just a little over 2 weeks until the girls go back, i am looking very forward to it and so are they it has been a difficult summer and we are all craving some routine. Well enough rambling from me...*wink*

Don't forget to check out my trade list 2 posts down there is still lots of good stuff!

Supplies: Baroque Motifs, Chocolate chip, Pretty in Pink card stock, Basic Grey's infused DP, Chocolate Chip craft ink, Versa Magic inks in Pixie Dust and Sea breeze, Bling, Clear embossing powder, corner rounder punch.

So Many Thank Yous To Give

I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who kept us close in thoughts and prayers, for those who sent us sympathy cards, for those who listened while I tried to work my way through the beginning stages of grief. I know I will never not miss my Dad, but I do know that the pain and sense of loss will lessen with each coming day. It has been a little over two weeks now and i am starting to get most things back in order, house, emails etc. I just wanted to let you know how much each and every one of you warmed our hearts through this, sharing your stories, sharing in our pain, and keeping us close in thought and prayer. I am blessed to be part of such a wonderful stamping community.

I also need to send a huge thank you to my husband Jason, he has been my rock through this storm, he has always been there when I needed him, always having Kleenex ready, talking the night away with me when I couldn't sleep, holding me while I cried, for knowing what I needed to hear, listening while I rambled, making dinner for the kids while I couldn't function. I love you more then you will ever know! I never would have made through this without you.

Cherish............

Well I finally did it I made a card!! *smiling* Not exactly what was in my head but close enough I am just so happy to be stamping again! I love Baroque Motifs it's so stunning! This card sketch is from yesterday's sketch challenge and today's way to use it challenge ( using the cutter kit) I don't have one but I do have a distressing tool so that is what I used.

I love silver and white together, the only downfall is it is hard to photograph.

Well I went to the eye doctor yesterday and he said it has healed very well he can't see any scratches on my eye he seemed so surprised, he said the strain I have been having is due to the eye having a hard time focusing he said it will be better over the next few weeks. He checked my vision again thinking I would be a 20/25 but to his surprise I had still retained my 20/20 *smiling*, and will not require and glasses at this time.

Supplies: Baroque Motifs, Butterfly of Happiness, Sliver and WW card stock, Vellum, Versa Mark, Embossing powders, Ribbon, Cord, Lace, Charm, Bling, Cuttlebug, Ticket corner punch, Distresser, and Dimensionals

Where Have I Been

Well my nephew Hunter has been blessing us with a visit,we actually weren't supposed to get to see him again this summer, he was not able to make the celebration of life service because he was with his other Grandma in Saskatchewan, she is very ill and has been for some time, so Hunter and his dad were planning on spending all their vacation with his grandma, but surprisingly they came out this way! So I have Hunter for a few days, its so nice for the girls to be able to play with now!

Well yesterday being a good mommy and aunty I took the kids down to the beach with a friend of mine and her 3 girls, well after 3 hours I got an ouchie of a sunburn, and I was fully clothed!! Just a slight v-neck on my shirt and WOW big burn, and my face is totally burnt too! The kids however are fine no burns, and they had a super fun time! I have a card all sketched out, and I hoping to find a few minutes today to go down and make it! I have got to go to the eye doctor again today for another look, I dont think the procedure worked it has been starting to hurt again so I will see what he has to say.

Steph took this one of herself too funny.....LOL!

Here are a few pics one of my super ouchie burn ( don't mind my morning hair and no make up face.......LOL)and a few of kids this morning.

A New Look

I have been thinking of a new look for a while, so Jason made me a new banner yesterday, and I changed the colors to match. I love the new banner so pretty. I also added a new feature on the sidebar A reflection of my daily mood, music!! I will change the music to suit my mood that day.

We did not make it out to the celebration yesterday, just didn't feel like it when the time came, we however did take the kid to Jungle Mania, a play play place with tubes, slides, vines etc. and then to a special lunch at McDonalds. It was nice just to spend a family day together.

Moving Forward

We are starting to move forward, my mom and my sister left this morning for their long trek back to the Northwest Territories. We have sorted through all my dad's belongings, now I just need to have a garage sale for the household items with all the proceeds going to NONA, a local agency who provides EIBI therapy for families with Autistic children, this is also the organization his sister chose in Lu of flowers, he would love this cause as it is very close to our hearts.

I plan to actually go down to my studio this weekend and have some crafter's therapy with Jason, as a sign that we are starting to move forward and resume some normal activity to keep our minds busy.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us through this difficult time, we are so blessed to have such a wonderful community surround us during this time. It has meant so much to us, to hear your words of encouragement.

Our church is having it's 100 year celebration this weekend with a catered dinner etc. on Saturday I think we will try to head out to the celebration and enjoy fellow shipping and just being in the company of others, maybe just what the doctor ordered as we do tend to be a bit introverted, especially during this time.

I wish you all a fabulous weekend!

Still Here

We had the viewing yesterday, and got to be with the rest of the family my dad was one of 9 it was so nice to with them all and hear all the wonderful stories and how he touched each one of our lives it was exactly what I needed to hear. He was a very loved man. Tomorrow is the celebration of life service, so today I am trying to gather the strength for tomorrow.

Thank you so much for all your thoughts and prayers they mean so very much to me and my family at this time. I miss my dad so much my heart hurts every minute but I know he has gone home and is in a better place, which is very comforting.

Thank You for being there for us.

Here are a few samples I had submitted to the smART Cookie Design Team, although I was not chosen I had fun trying out and congrats to those who made it. I feel it was a blessing not to have been chosen as at this time I would not have been able to fulfill my duties.

Still Numb

I am still very numb everything seems so surreal . I heard from the coroner and he determined that my Dad had a massive heart attack, he would have not even known. I feel very blessed to have had some extra time with him. But I do miss him so very much. We will be having a viewing tomorrow, and a celebration of life service on Sunday.

I know there could have not been any better circumstances for his passing and I am so happy he was here with his Grandchildren boy did they love him so.

Thank you so much for all your thoughts and prayers left here and in emails, it means so much to us at this time.

My mom and sister will be arriving here any minute now and I know this will reopen the still very fresh pain, but an grateful that we well be able to grieve together and support one another through the coming days.

Here is the song that my Dad wanted played at the celebration of life service, the River By Garth Brooks

I Am A Mess

PICTURE OF MY DAD, SISTER AND MOM AT OUR WEDDING 2 YEARS AGO

We are still waiting to hear from the coroner about the cause of death, although he did say it was something Cardio Vascular. My dad was 54 he would have been 55 on December 30th. My dad has been awaiting surgery for the past few month for some clogged Arteries in his leg and groin, we were told he was in no immediate danger and as long as he took his medicine ( which he did) he would be fine. I am so happy he came to stay with us for this past month, he wasn't supposed to be here he was headed down to stay with his sister in Hope BC, but then I had car problems so he stayed to fix them, the he stayed here to watch the cats when we went up North to my Mom's, and for some reason both he and I thought he should stay here through August.

God always has a plan, the month he was here he got to spend time with the girls, strengthen our relationship, be with our cats and dogs who he adored. So I just hope he knew how much he was loved. I am thankful and grateful he was taken when things in his life were good, he was around family, and taken while he was sleeping.

My heart hurts at the thought I will never see him again, I miss him already, we would have coffee on the fronts steps in the morning together so this morning was particularly hard.

Thank you so much for all you thoughts and prayers they mean so much at this time. I am also sorry for being so blunt yesterday, I just didn't know a good way to say it.
