Bye Bye Bye

Saying goodbye to the retiring stamps was the way to use it challenge today, I chose to used mixed bouquet I am sad to see this go I got got it a few months ago **insert trembling lip here**.....LMBO! I stamped the rose on glossy paper and sponged on the color with some Brilliance Inks and stickles to highlight the lines of the flowers. I love the shimmer of the inks!

It is a very nice look in real life not too sure how well the photo captured it. OH MY WORD was it hot here yesterday, wow! I thought I was going to die.....LOL! I don't like the heat very much, guess it's the English in me, I always say England is where I should be living climate wise anyways.

If you are interested in trying this challenge you can do so here WT115 - Going, Going, Gone

Supplies, Mixed Bouquet, So Very, Black, Glossy white, and Regal Rose card stock, Certainly Celery, Black, and Brilliance Inks, STickles, Brads, Ribbon, Cuttlebug, Marker and Dimensionals.

Kiss this and don't mean on my rosy red lips! Actually this is line from a song that I like from Aaron Tippin called "Kiss this". I liked it so much I had hubby custom make the stamp for me. It fit perfect with the Lips stamp (STAMPABILITIES) that I got from HM Stamps. For today's TLC challenge the challenge was to use the wet paper watercolor technique, spray paper with water then stamp image dry with heat gun and stamp image again on top of the first image. So I thought some big wets kisses would turn out nicely.

I would also like to share with this beautiful Blogger Birthday RAK from Life out of the Shell

Springtime Daffodils

I love daffodils and always thought that stampin up's delight in life stamp set kind of looked like daffodils. So for today's way to use it challenge, I got a chance to try it out and see. I love how they turned out. The way to use it challenge was to find a way to use yoyo yellow, a color I don't use all that often, so i paired it with another color that I don't use all that often only orange and now I have a bouquet of springtime daffodils.

I have to tell you all something so cute and kind of funny.......LBMO....already. As most of you our youngest daughter Megan has autism, now Megan is getting really good at reading! So we were at burger king on Friday and Megan and I were sitting at the table waiting for Jason to bring our dinner, when she starts looking at the menu board, so she turns to me and says fish sticks???!! I say yes fish sticks good reading! Megan says fish sticks with a puzzled look on her face, the it dawns on me how strange this probably is to her, she knows what a fish is and she knows what a stick is but a fish stick.....ROTFLMBO!! She must think we are the weirdest people for wanting to eat fish sticks....LOL! So this morning while I was stamping she was coloring beside me and she draws fish sticks, fish that look like sticks.......SO CUTE!! and kind of funny!.....LMBO! Just had to share!

If you are interested in doing this way to use it challenge you can do so here WT114 - Going Yo Yo.

Apricot Roses

I am so sad to see this set on the retiring list it makes the most gorgeous roses! I made the roses by first stamping the rose in apricot ink and rolling the edge is rose red ink, continued on all three pieces to the rose. Then I cut out all three pieces and used a stylus on the back side to curl the edges of the petals, and then used the stylus on the front of rose to indent the centers. Then taped them together and add Iridescent Ice the picture doesn't really show how sparkly they are for real.

The colors I used for today's color challenge on SCS, you will find that challenge here CC114: Apricot Roses. I'm not too fond of these colors together, a little bright but still OK.

Don't forget to check out stamps for sale , there is both current and retired stamps on the list.

The carriage is made from a shimmer vanilla card stock and is covered with Iridescent Ice, the door is on vanilla shimmer with gold embossing powder, the wheels, the top and the leaves are on brushed gold paper embossed with gold embossing powder.

Happy Mother's Day All!

Here is the card that Megan Made me, she is my featured stamper this Sunday I love Megan's card and I love that she made it all by herself. Her aide told me she had taken a lot time working on it and was very proud of the outcome but no one is prouder then this mommy. For those of you who may not know Megan is Autistic so these kind of things are huge in our house.

The Inside

I hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day! So for this Chocolate Sunday I thought I would treat you to some chocolate beauty treatment recipes! These recipes are Delicious! I have included the web address just in case you want to check out their other recipes.

Today, the good news about chocolate, especially the dark variety, just keeps on coming. Not only does it kick up the feel-good juices in our brains, but chocolate is loaded with anti-aging vitamins and minerals. Plus, the caffeine in cocoa is said to help reduce the appearance of cellulite. Bring on the cocoa!

Chocolate body scrub

Here's what you do:
Combine ingredients in a bowl. Use whenever cravings hit by massaging into skin and rinsing with warm water in the shower. Store in an airtight container up to six months.
You'll need:
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup canola oil
1/4 cup powered cocoa
a few drops of chocolate and/or raspberry fragranced oil
http://www.arizonaspagirls.com/0/Lifestyle/BeautyLab/Better_than_Chocolate_Body_Scrub

Cocoalicious Body Glow

A sweet and stimulating cocoa body scrub.

You know that warm, glowing sensation you get when you're first caught in the throngs of Cupid's arrow? Or that singular flush that comes from biting into a decadent dark chocolate dessert? Well somewhere in between love and chocolate is normal, everyday life and this simple, sugary concoction is just the thing to cook up when life needs a little sweetening! Great for sharing (nudge nudge, wink wink).
Here's what you do:
Mix ingredients thoroughly in a glass bowl. Start with just a few drops of the fragranced oils until you get the aroma you want. In the shower, gently rub all over body while thinking loving, sweet thoughts! Rinse thoroughly. To keep the good vibrations going, dry off and moisturize with a light dosing of almond oil mixed with a drop of fragranced oil.
You'll need:
1/2 cup Turbinado sugar
2 to 3 tablespoons almond oil
1 tablespoon cocoa
Raspberry fragranced oil
Dark chocolate fragranced oil
http://www.arizonaspagirls.com/0/Lifestyle/BeautyLab/Cocoalicious_Body_Glow

This cocoa recipe has many variations. It might as well be called cocoa powder facial mask recipe as you really need cocoa, not chocolate to prepare it. But you must agree, for the sake of skin care, chocolate mask sounds so much more appealing.

Chocolate Face Mask Recipe

Ingredients:

1/3 cup cocoa
1/4 cup of honey
2 tablespoons of heavy cream (sour cream will work as well)
3 teaspoons of oatmeal powder
Preparation:

Mix all the ingredient until the mass in consistent. Apply on the face, gently massaging it so that oatmeal can start exfoliating the dead skin cell layer. Leave it on for about 20 minutes and rinse off with luke warm water.

In case you are wondering, there is a reason oatmeal and honey are added to this mix. Similar to its use in body scrub recipes, oatmeal it is recommended for sensitive skin, but can be used in preparation of facial masks for any skin type, as well as for preparation of facial exfoliates as it is gentle on the skin, yet highly powerful.

Honey on the other hand, is a great anti-bacterial agent, deeply cleanses your skin and opens up clogged pores. Now that you know all these benefits of chocolate, not only can you be guilt free while eating it, you can prepare an excellent chocolate face mask recipe and aid to your skin's youthful look and nourishment.

Your wide open space should not contain any stamped images, dry embossing, patterned paper, or embellishments... and there should be a lot of open space on your card. You may use any images, colors, paper, and embellishments on your card... just not in the open space."

I love the look of cards with wide open spaces I don't make many but I do love them! I don't normally like to Sage Shadow but I love it on this card. If you would like to try this challenge you can do so here LSC115 - Wide Open Spaces

Supplies: Butterfly of Happiness, WW, Perfect Plum, Sage Shadow card stock, Enchanted Designer paper, Perfect Plum ink, Ribbon, Brads, Stickles, and Dimesionals.

How To Make Clouds

I have been asked a few times how I make my clouds, so I have put together a tutorial on how I make my clouds. Hopefully this will be easy to follow.

Supplies: Bashful blue ink, Sponge dauber, Cloud template ( I drew mine and cut it out of card stock) and paper (project)

Line up your template on your project.

Sponge on ink, I flip the cloud template over each time I start a new cloud section.

Finish project and decorate accordingly.
