No Motivation Monday

No motivation Monday......blah....... I woke up this morning to find it snowing we got over 2" in an hour!! Then my allergies kicked into full gear!!I have spring allergies but i have not idea what I am allergic to.

The it was sunny out and 20 minutes later it is snowing again......wahhhhh! Needless to say all my motivation has been sucked dry with the arrival of my allergies.

Okay pity party over!

I made this card for today's TLC challenge the challenge being to use the paper tole technique. I raised the tie and the pocket up on pot dots, not to sure how well the photo shows it. I think the dp maybe a little strong for this technique.

If I feel better later today I may just try again. This set is from Flourishes the newly available set is called Men's wear. The set has a total of nine images and sentiments perfect for father's day or birthdays.

Well I am off in search of my motivation if you find it before me can you email it back to me at kellyshadow@yahoo.com..........LOL!

Supplies: Mens wear, flourishes, fllc, pumpkin pie, garden green, chocolate chip, mellow dp, black and chocolate chip ink, cuttlebug, brads.

Winner, and Answers

The winner is......................................................

BELA'S CREATING PLACE

Please email at kellyshadow@yahoo.com and i will pass your info onto Kelley so she can get the stamps out you.

I've heard a lot about Glimmer Mist recently....what is it and where do you get it??
Glimmer mist is essentially glitter in a spray form, it is a super fine glitter and has a gorgeous effect.
You can find glimmer mist in quite a few stores here are some place that I like to shop at
Embellish It Scrapbooking
All that scraps
Tattered angels the makers of Glimmer mist

I have to ask that beautiful color ribbon you used on this card....where did you get that from????
The ribbon is from Stampin Up, it is now retired it was called Purely pomegranante Satin ribbon, the ribbon used on the card mentioned was similar, just a slightly different shade, but I can't remember where I got it from.

Who makes it?
Glimmer mist is made by Tattered angles.

What colors does it come it?
Glimmer mist come in about 60 colors so there is a lot of choice I have only 6 colors but there are gold, latte, coffee shop, gingerbread, snowflake and sugar cookie. I do plan to collect a few more colors too!

How do I purchase stamps from this company (our daily bread).
You can purchase from them right here Our Daily Bread

Do you know what colorless, odorless mineral spirits are?

Odorless mineral spirits
is based on petroleum and has a moderate evaporation rate. It is said not to be absorbed through healthy skin, but it's sensible to take precautions, especially if you've sensitive skin. Odorless mineral spirits is, unsurprisingly, more expensive than normal mineral spirits as it has had some of the harmful aromatic solvents removed. Brands include Turpenoid, Thin-ex, Gamsol.

The reason the y work so well with prismacolor pencil is because prismacolor pencils have a wax base, oil painting is also a common use of orderless mineral spirits.

Love Is In The Air...

Today's limited supply challenge was to use embellishments that we don't use, or that make us go why did we buy that......LOL! I have a ton of buttons that never seem to get used, the heart brads are another embellishment that rarely get touched.

The first card and the second card are the same other then the second card has a prima flower on to. Wanna know why????

Well it's cause.......... I didn't read through the challenge all the way.................we were also supposed to incorporate flowers into our card **blushing**!! Total brain fart on my part......LOL!

I also used Beate's weekend sketch challenge for the the layout! I adore this layout so perfect for smaller images!

Personally I like it better without the prima, what do think?

Don't forget to enter to win an Our Daily Bread stamps set in the post below.

I will be back later today with some answers to some questions that were asked about glimmer mist and how to purchase Our Daily Bread stamps.

Challenges.....News........and A Giveaway!

Can you believe I actually made 2 cards for today's Way to use it challenge! Today's challenge was to "find Ways to Spray It. Whether it be Glimmer Mist, water misting, color spritzer, airbrush, hairspray...or whatever else you can think up...have fun spraying it on."

For this card I used my markers to color the image and spritzed it with water just before stamping it. I love the effect, very muted kind of like watercolors.

I used my Fancy Pants Bella Bush for the main image on this card, along with Harmony Happiness for the sentiment. This sentiment happens to be one of my favorites!

Supplies: Bella Bush, Harmony Happiness, rose red, certainly celery, white cs, rose red ink, markers, water spritzer, ribbon, butterfly charm.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Whether it be Glimmer Mist, water misting, color spritzer, airbrush, hairspray...or whatever else you can think up...have fun spraying it on."

I used glimmer mist (snowflake) to spritz the entire card ribbon and all after it was finished. I just love how it glistens making it so heavenly......LOL! I also used the color challenge from Tuesday, I thought the colors had such a calming effect.

Now on to some blog Chocolate!!!

Kelley was so generous to offer the design team a set to giveaway The winner will receive a Light of the World set!! I will send Kelley the winner's name and she will mail a set direct to you!!

Secret Gardens and Butterfly Kisses

Who wouldn't want butterfly kisses in a secret garden?? Sounds divine to me!

Actually we have real live butterflies in our bedroom!! Jason found them hybrinating in some wood at work, they were going to burn all the wood so he collected all the butterflies and brought them home. they are still in hybrination, but when they wake we will set them free.

Anyhoo, back to the card! This card was made using today's sketch challenge. I really like the layout, but then again I love layers!!

The only thing I wasn't sure about was the brads, I tried some small green ones but they didn't work well so I turned to these pearl brads, but they seem a little too big???

I am so glad that I have hoarded my secret garden scrappin kit, I just love the papers in it! I stamped the butterflies onto vellum then added some stickles in the flower centers on the wings.

Supplies: Butterfly kisses, papertrey, groovy guava, always artichoke, white cs, secret garden simply scrappin kit, vellum, groovy guava ink, stickles, bling, brads, ribbon and marker.

He Has Risen

Flourishes has out done them selves with this Easter Blessings stamp set. Such a gorgeous image perfect for easter, baptism, sympathy there will be many ways to use this set in the years to come.

I used crystal clear card stock from Flourishes this is heavy weight transparency it is wonderful to work with it scores nicely and can stand up just like regular card stock.

The image is just so powerful on it's own I didn't want it to compete with designer paper, so I thought clear would be the way to go to let it stand out on it's own.

Well I will keep this short this morning, I have a sick child and a million errands to run for this weekend. I hope to be back a little later today with something more to share.

Supplies: Easter blessings, Flourished Elements, Flourishes, Fllc, Ruby red, always artichoke, clear card stock, black ink, copics.

I hope I can steal away some time a little later to play some more, I have so many ideas swirling around in my head using these stamps.

I went with some brights today, I just thought it would be really cute colors for an Easter card.

Well off to clean something......LOL!

Orchid Blooms

I made this using today's color challenge, the color in the challenge were, Orchid Opulence, Sage shadow and Kraft plus neutrals if needed. I actually don't have any kraft so i used creamy caramel in its place.

Most people hate Orchid Opulence, I actually like it, if it is used subtlety.

I am so happy that I hoarded some of last year's Enchanted dp! it worked out perfectly for this card.

I used papertrey's out on a limb set and each bloom has a little stickles in the center, looks very nice in real life.

For those who are a little curious about the car cost all said and done it was $200! Not terrible but not great either. We are looking into a locking gas cap to hopefully avoid this in the future!

We took Megan with us to the mechanics so she could see that it was broken and they had to fix it, then we talked about not putting water in the car. I do think by the end she really got it, she hung her head because she was embarrassed, usually a good sign she understands. Poor kid she was just trying to help.....LOL!

Supplies: Out on a limb, Papertrey, Orchid Opulence, Sage shadow, black, white and enchanted dp, Orchid Opulence, creamy caramel, black ink, stickles, brads, ribbon.

Bella Birthday

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

I made this for today's TLC challenge, the challenge was to use the NEGATIVE side of the Cuttlebug! It was super easy to do you ink up the negative side of the cuttlebug folder and put your paper in and run through the machine as usual. Be sure to clean you folder right away to avoid staining.

I love this Bella Birthday stamp, perfect for any girl's birthday, young or old. I used red ink inside my swiss dots folder, it is very subtle but it really makes the dots pop all that much more.

The photo doesn't show it too well but both pink heart balloons are covered in pink stickles and glitter a lot in real life.

Well my car is fixed!!! YAY!! I am so happy to be driving again!! There was a LOT of water in the gas tank!! But now everything is as good as new! So I spent all day Saturday running all last week's errands.

Then Sunday I decided i was going to tackle or spare bedroom/storage room, that was a lot of work! I have been dreading for months now, but now that it's done I feel so much better. I can't believe how much stuff we will be donating to Big Brother and Sisters they are going to need a moving truck......LOL!!

Supplies: Bella stamps, real red, cool caribbean, regal rose, white cs, daisy bucket dp, real red, black ink, copics, cuttlebug, stickles, brads, ribbon, prima flowers, corner rounder punch, singlo gel pen.

Bad Hair Day?

Bad hair Day??? Iknow I have had a few!!

Isn't she a cutie patootie!!! Her name is Alexis and I got her from Stamping Bella. She reminds me so much of my girls when they would wear pony tails.

I made this for today's limited supply challenge, the challenge was to be tool free. No tool other then scissors, paper cutter, sponges, coloring tools any embellishments that don't require a special tool.

So here is what I came up with, I have to tell you brads are very hard to put through only using scissors.

Well my car goes in to fixed tomorrow morning!! Whoo-hoo can't wait I so have to get to a grocery store!!

Here is a picture of Megan (the car wrecker....LOL) in grade one when she would always wear pony tails! She was soooo cute!! She still is cute but now she won't even brush her hair most days.

I miss those days sometimes, we thought she wanted pony tail because Boo from monsters inc had them, that was her favorite movie at the time. We later discover she wanted them because she loved the song I'm real by Jennifer Lopez and in the video she had pony tails.

We thought that was just hilarious!! Now she loves John Mayer and stroke 9.

This picture is of Stephanie when she was 6 months old, she had just taken her pony tails out and her hair was standing up......LOL!! Such a cutie pie!!

Stephanie was born with enough hair to wear barrettes and tiny pony tails right away. By the time she was five she never wanted to wear them again. I was so sad cause she was adorable in them.

Stephaine loves almost all music country, Christian, pop, rock she just loves to sing........but only girl songs.....LOL!!

Supplies: Stamping bella stamps, all in a row, pretty in pink, regal rose, white and chocolate chip cs, dp, black and chocolate chip ink, copics, glitter pen, ribbon, brads.

What Was I Thinking??

What was I thinking when i was making this card??

I made this for today's way to use it challenge, the challenge was to use only patterned paper.

The vision that was in my head was much more glamorous......LOL!

The photo doesn't help much, the color got mutated somewhat the flowers are actually Groovy Guava in color they are showing more pink in this picture.

Oh well......... it'll just have to do for today!

Did you see the good news about "K" in the post below???? If not check it out she is doing wonderfully!!

As for my car not so wonderful!! We were unable to siphon the gas out, after talking to some people on the Neon forum, yes there is a forum....LOL! Some neons have baffles in the gas tank rendering it virtually impossible to siphon the gas out! POOP!! So we have to have a mechanic lower our tank drain the fluid yadda yadda.

I have to phone around to get price estimates I hope it is not expensive!!!

Supplies: Embrace life, all in a row, groovy guava cs, ginger blossom dp, black ink, pr4imas, ribbon, brads.

Update On "K"

We just got the best update on "K"! She got home yesterday the surgery went perfectly so perfectly in fact the Dr.'s were able create a J Pouch. This type of ostomy does not require an external stoma and bag and only certain people are candidates for it. An internal pouch is constructed from the rectum allowing waste products to gather there before being expelled in the normal manner although bowel movements will probably be more frequent and watery than usual.

God is good!! This is wonderful and unexpected news!! This also means she will be returning to school after spring break!! her first day back will be March 31rst!! I was so happy to get this news!! Steph and I sprang tears of Joy!!

Don't cha just love her name......LOL!! I made this for today's sketch challenge. To me I just couldn't get past that I kept seeing a face in the sketch, so I had to go with it!!

She was so easy to make no stamping!! Gasp!! I know terrible isn't it???

Well the mechanic can't see our car until Friday BUT I know what's wrong with now!!! You may need to sit for this!!

Are you sitting??????

Well................. Megan our youngest with Autism has been filling our little Jerry can with WATER and putting it in our GAS TANK!!! Can we spell T-R-O-U-B-L-E!!!!!!

That little STINKER!!! OH man was I irritated when I discovered this!!

Now we don't just leave the gas can laying around she had to do some scaling in our basement to get it!!

So last night I'm thinking........uuummmmm....... ADOPTION!!!!! ..........No just kidding, I love her to pieces BUT she can be a real STINKER sometimes!!!

After searching the internet it seems like the problem is somewhat easy to fix, we have to empty our tank into Jerry cans, then we will be able to see how much water is in the gas. Gas and water don't mix and water is heavier so the water will be at the bottom of the can. Then we have to add back like 3 quarters of the gas back as to not add the water back, then top off the tank with some premium gas and it should be good. UNLESS she wrecked our fuel filter that would require a mechanic.

When Jason gets home we will attempt to fix this I pray all goes well!! I so NEED a VACATION!!! And spring break starts on friday they will be home for 2 weeks!!! I am going to go crazy......LOL!

Supplies: Pretty in pink, regal rose, white black, cs, marker, prima, ribbon, oval and circle punches, tag punch.

Elegant Birthday Wishes

Oh Man do I love today's color challenge!! I love these colors so elegant together!! Not the traditional birthday colors we are used too but gorgeous in it's own right!

Purely Pomegranate, Basic Grey, Basic Black, and White......so sharp!!

I think these would be perfect for a wedding card as well!

I am a little bummed out today it seems I have awoke to another cold!! AARRGGGG!!!! I hate being sick and since I was really sick like 2 weeks ago I am so not happy!!!

Up until I quit smoking 6 years ago I was never sick as soon as I quit I started having Gallbladder issues which ended up having to be removed. That was followed by quite a few other problems too!!

I will NEVER smoke again!! Just thought it was kinda funny. I use to maybe get sick once every couple of years then.

Then my car started to act funny and the engine light came on!!! So scary I prayed all the way home that we would get there without breaking down on the side of the road. God is good he got use home safe and sound!! So I guess I have to see if the mechanic in town will give me an estimate for the work. I am praying it is a small problem I just can't afford a large one right now.

Well off to phone the mechanic for an appointment!!

Supplies: Piece of cake, butterfly kisses, papertrey stamps, Purely Pomegranate, Basic Grey, Basic Black, and White cs, Holiday Harmony DP (SU) Retired, Purely Pomegranate, Basic Grey, Basic Black inks, brads, ribbon, cuttlebug

Eggstra Special Easter Treats

Who doesn't like Eggstra special easter treats?? The first project I made was an egg shaped gift bag. I used my creative memories oval cutter to cut out the shape. I used a pink paper bag cut down in size for the inside, I just love how this bag is able to stand up perfectly on it's own!

The bunny was made using my cm oval cutter, oval and circle punches from SU. The handles on the bag were also created SU's oval punch.

To answer the question "Where can I find the ribbon ring?" right here ---> Ribbon Ring <---

Supplies:Green galore, pretty in pink, white cs, Romani dp, oval cutter, oval punches, circle punch, googlie eyes, marker, white singlo pen, and ribbon.

Monkey Mania!!

This first card was made for today's limited supply challenge and Beate's weekend sketch challenge.

The limited supply challenge was to make a card no larger then 4.25" by 4.25" and use you left over scraps.

This challenge came at the perfect time, i can't cleaned off my table from yesterday's card so all my scraps were still there.

I am so in love with these monkeys from CC designs, they are so sweet!

Well I finally got a good amount of sleep last night YAY!!! I have been taking a Melatonin for the past 2 nights and it does seem to be helping somewhat. Thank you so much for all you suggestions I will be trying them all, and will let you know how they work out for me.

I also wanted to mention that some of the cards for "K" are starting to arrive!! I can't wait until they are all here and we get to take them over to her!! Exciting!!

I made this card for the Embellish It gallery I just love the Mellow dp it is perfect for these little monkeys.

Just look at them, I love the little guy hanging from the branch, growing up I always wanted a monkey. That is until I found out how much work they can be!

And finally my product review!!! Melissa Bickle the creator of the Ribbon Ring contacted me after she noticed how much ribbon i use and asked me if I would like to try the ribbon ring and review it for her.

Heck yeah, I am always looking for ribbon solutions, I currently have my ribbon stored on a wall system, hanging metal shelfs thate fit the rolls perfectly. I keep all my loose or by the meter ribbon in jars wrapped around close pegs. The problem with the ribbon jars is sometimes you have to empty half the jar, just to get the ribbon on the bottom.

The Ribbon Ring is a perfect solution for ribbon for storing ribbon 1 yard or less!! The ribbon glides easily through the tag no tugging required.....LOL! I also like how you can have a ring for each color family. If you are like me sometime I drag out 5 different ribbons just to find the right shade, with the ribbon ring they are all at my finger tips!!

So there you have it, I give the ribbon ring an A+ I will definitely be investing in some more! Let me know what you think of this review and whether or not you would like to see more reviews.

Supplies Card 1: CC designs, monkey Love, All in a row, chocolate chip, pumpkin pie, garden green, white cs, mellow dp, black , and wild wasabli inks, copics, brads, ribbon, circle and scalloped circle punches, marker.
