A Flourishing Day

I can't believe it I managed to get two cards done this morning! Whoohoo!! The first card was made with Flourishes Mardi Gras set, and Basic Grey's Two Scoops paper also available at Flourishes. I love the two scoops paper pack the colors are too sweet!!

This card was made for today's sketch challenge, not too sure how I feel about it, I LOVE the colors just not sure about the rest, I may try pull it all apart later, and see if I can do something better, probably should just let sleeping dogs lie though. The sentiment is from Flourishes and is called Flourished words, the script they chose is so elegant.

Man oh man did we get a dumping of snow yesterday, when I went to pick Jason up it was white out conditions, needless to say I was not thrilled. Normally I love winter, but for some reason this year I have just had enough already!!

Supplies: Mardi Gras, Flourishes, FLLC, Bashful Blue, wild wasabi white card stock, two scoops DP, Black ink, ribbon, and nestabilities.

Supplies: Flourished Words, Flourishes, FLLC, soft sky, chocolate chip card stock, soft sky designer prints, chocolate chip ink, ribbon, build a brad, prima flowers, brads.

Some Days Your The Bug

I made this card for today's color challenge using JessicaLynn Original stamps this is called Spring Bugs and will be released on February 1rst, along with quite a few other new sets!! The colors for today's challenge were Yoyo yellow, going grey and basic grey , I substituted black for basic grey because I don't have any.

Oh my word has it been cold here!! Not as cold as some other places in Canada but cold none the less, the car almost didn't start this morning! But it did and I got Jason to work on time! Different Yet The Same

All right for today's post I would like everyone to put on their humor hats!! Why the humor harts you ask.......well.

I was cruising some blogs on Friday and came across Taylor's first Sketch Challenge, I love Taylor's stuff and immediately decided I wanted to try her sketch, although it would have to wait until the weekend when I had a bit more time to craft. So this is the card I made for her challenge again another stamp I have had for eons and never inked up. The glass is covered with crystal effects so it look like a real glass in real life.

Then on Saturday I was crusing some blogs again and I came across Lauren's blog and her Sketch challenge and noticed that it was very similar to Taylor's sketch. Cha-ching 2 sketch challenges that I could participate in!!! Whoohoo!! This made me so happy I don't get to play along much with blogger's sketch challenges so this was so nice to be able to participate in 2! So this is the card I made for Lauren's sketch challenge!

Ok so here is where the humor comes in, the 2 challenges reminded me of a song that I had hear on Just For Laughs a couple years ago about Britney Spear's ( I am in no way poking fun at Britney, I am saddened by her current state) using the same melody for 2 of her big hits Oops I Did It Again and Hit Me Baby One More Time. So I searched and found a video of the song I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!!

Somewhere in that cute poem they forgot frogs, mud and bugs......LOL! Or at least that is what my nephew is made of, I sure hope he'll like getting this card in the mail.

Today's limited supply challenge was to use leftovers, and I have a ton of them, every piece of paper on this card is a leftover from another project, as is the ribbon.

Well i will keep it short today as I have to be showered and out of the house in a 1/2!!

Beach Time

I made this card using the sketch from today's sketch challenge. I really like the sketch, but of course I love lots of layers so what's not to like.....*wink*.

Since I hadn't cleaned off my desk I decided to use another CC designs stamp, this one hadn't seen any ink either and it was bought at the same time *blushing*, now you all know my terrible secret I buy stamps and never ink them up ........scandalous I know!

I decided to go with purple for this card, a color I don't really use much, but this little bug just screamed do me in purple.....LOL! **note to self see someone about your stamps talking to you**. Like yesterday's bug she was naked so I colored in a bathing suit for her.

Thank you for all your well wishes I will let you know how everything goes once the results are in!

Supplies: CC designs, Lovely lilac, almost amethyst, white card stock, MM DP, Black ink, Copics, Corner rounder punch, gel pen, bling, brads, ribbon, prima flowers and dimensionals.

Well I have to get another xray for that spot on my lung to make sure that it hasn't grown any, wish me luck. Maybe this time they will actually get a good look, last time the xray for my heart and it happened to catch the spot on my lung, so this should be a more detailed xray focusing on my lung.

Sweet Pixie Pouch

Today's TLC challenge was to make a pixie pouch, I have made these before but never knew that they had an actual name. I am not too sure if the ribbon really work well with this pouch but I just had to use it....LOL!

Such a quick and fun card and perfect for giving away treats in! I have been asked before if I have any tip on tying ribbons and bows, so I am doing a video tutorial for you to show you how I do it. I hope to have it posted later in the week.

I was also asked about which camera I use, well it is not one of those fancy one although I do hope to have one by the end of the year. I use the Sony Cyber--shot 7.2 mega pixels it is small and compact perfect size for when you are on the go (park, swimming, etc.).

Warning Hideous Card Alert

Warning Hideous Card Alert!!

You know when you should stop making a card and cut your losses? Well......this is what happens if you don't stop!!

So you want some insight on this happened???

1. I was ready willing and able to make a card this morning...........until.................... the phone rang......

2. One of those your girlfriend needs some therapy calls, love them BTW, anyhoo 4 hours later mojo is gone.........so watch a little tv do a work out then say to self, " Self we should go down and make a card"

3. Self says......hmmmmmm........ I don't think we should!

4. Kelly says "self you don't know anything , and I have the legs and say we are making the card"

5. Self know there is no point in arguing with Kelly she is far too stubborn, but says "remember I told you I didn't think it was a good idea!"

6. Kelly feeling good for having won the argument with self promptly went down to the studio to get to work, but.........

7. Kelly had no ideas...........so she wung it.......self was shaking her head in disappointment thinking I knew we didn't have an ideas.

8. Kelly says to self " come on self you know we don't need any ideas we are creative geniuses"

9. Self laughs hysterically!!

10. Kelly without the help of self continues on and well...........she got into the prima bottle and just couldn't stop putting them on, even when she knew she should stop she kept it up........until..........we created this disaster!!

11. Kelly steps away from card and says to self "self this is ugly what am I do to with it??"

12. Self says " Kelly we are going to post this card in hopes that we can save others from this hideous experience "

13. Kelly says " No! No! I will be mortified!!!

14. Self says " I told you so!! You had no business making a card with no mojo!!

15. the moral of the story next time Kelly will skip the card and wait for her mojo to return.

Happy Valentine's Day

Sorry for the late post today Steph has had a friend over all weekend and i just took her home, hard to get the creativity flowing when you have 2 squealing teeny boppers in the house......LOL!

So I decided to take one of my Pixel and Pookie stamps from Stampendous and make it usable as a Valentine's Day stamp. I think it turned out really cute!! What do you think? I used Basic Grey's Blush paper pack, and allowed to be my color palette for this card such wonderful colors!

I guess I should keep his short today as I have a ton of dishes and whatnot to do from those girls partying it up all weekend long!

Supplies: Pixel and Pookie stamps (stampendous), pretty in pink, real red, chocolate chip, white card stock, basic grey blush paper pack, black ink, copics, heart punch, heart button, heart brads, ribbon, rub on, and dimensionals.

Become One

I decide to take part in Sharon's tall and thin challenge two things I would love to be......LOL! I love Sharon's challenge and adore long and tall cards although I don't make many I do really like them.

I decide to bring Embrace Life out once more to see if we could be friends and YES I love how these flowers turned out, I think we might be able to make this friendship work out!

Oh My Word have we got a ton of snow in the last 2 days probably got 6 inches last night alone. We live on top of a big hill I will take a picture later to give you some prospective of how large the hill really is, anyhoo get up to drive Jason to work this morning and............the plows have not been out now it started snowing at 6 pm last night and was still snowing at 6 am when we got up!! We are on a high priority road but.........no plows for over 12 hours??? When I came back home from driving Jason to work it took 3 attempts to get up the hill the snow was so deep I couldn't get any traction.

Then at 8 am I go to take the girls to school still no plows.......hmmmm finally at 9 am the plow comes by!! A whole 15 hours of snow accumulation before a plow came to a high priority road.......my question is should I phone city hall and complain, will it do any good?

Well that's my rant for the day.....LOL! I am not having the best start to a Friday, the snow thing then a guy in a truck blocking the road, making me have to back down another big hill ( the other one that connects to out hill), then come home home toilet over flows....yada yada yada..... hopefully my day gets better!! Sorry for the long post.

And here is a side view of the kickstand card I promised, the picture probably explains it so much better then I do!!

Supplies: Embrace Life, Secret Garden Simply Scrappin Kit, white card stock, black ink, rub on, brads, ribbon, nestabilities, stickles and dimensionals.

Me And My Daddy

Me and my daddy, are they sweet!! Today's way to use it challenge was to use leather..........I don't know about you but I am a paper crafter not a leather tatter! So have loose pieces of leather in my house is like um NO......LOL!! I did however remember that I had this little leather apron tag in box of strange embellishments. You know the box of what was I thinking....LOL! Come on admit it we all have one.

Well needless to say I am glad I held onto it for so long, but after discovering it i was like what am I going to do with it???? I thought maybe Hanna wad big enough to wear it no, bella no, hmmmm.......snowmen YES, do they look odd YES, but are we happy YES!!

So there you have this is how my odd card came about....LMBO....... probably too much info for you.....warning once you get into my head there is getting out.....LOL!!

Some of you asked about how the kick stand card stands well, you cut the front panel shorter then the back and use the image panel to bring the length back so that it is the same length as the back I will post a picture of the side view a little later. After the satellite guys comes and goes Megan got a PVR for christmas so they are coming to install it.

Supplies: Cold play, Bruno alpha rubber stamp tapestry, Night of navy, white card stock, DO, Doodlebug's sugar coated paper, Bordering blue , only orange, and black inks, crystal effects, glitter, leather apron, and dimensionals.
