I just love this snowman from Inkadinkado, he is just so darling, I couldn't resist inking him up! I stamper him on Shimmer paper with Palette Noir Hybrid ink and heat set it to prevent running then I used my Copics to color him in. Not too sure if you can tell but on the River rock layer that is embossed with the snowflakes folder from cuttlebug also has been misted with my Tattered Angels glimmer mist (Eclectic Paperie) this stuff is awesome, essentially glitter spray way cool!

Man has bit been frosty here in the mornings probably not too far off from getting some snow, I love winter I just would like to have my winter tires on before the snow flies, guess I had better get my butt in gear......LOL! I just love the warm cozy nights at home that winter provides, snuggled up with your loved ones in a blanket watching a movie, yep those are some of my favorite moments of winter, not to mention Christmas is in the winter!

Fabulous Flower Chest Part 2

I'm sorry I didn't get this up yesterday but it turned into a madhouse around here.......LOL! Here is what I came up with for the inside of this chest, I found the bubble bath/ lotion set at Michael's for a $1.50 (CAN.) or $1.00 (US) and they fit perfectly inside! I painted the inside of the chest with acrylic paint and added some DP and ribbon to the bottles of bubble bath and lotion.

So for a total of $3.25 we have created the cutest little gift for friends or family or even for craft fairs! The chest was $1.75 and the goodies were $1.50 and there maybe about .75 cents worth of materials!

Pictured below are the items before they were altered. I hope you enjoyed my frugal idea!

My sister finally got an appointment for her tests November the 6th. Thank you so much for all your thoughts and prayers! Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers, please pray for the results of the test to come back negative.

Simple Elegance

The first card I made is for today's limited supply challenge quick and elegant the challenge was to use the following materials:

Stamps
one floral image (stamped once or generation stamping - repeated stamping without re-inking)
one swirly type stamp
sentiment (optional)

Paper
solid or patterned paper
limit your layers

Embellishments
ribbon

Quick Tools (Optional)
punches
sponges
paper piercer
Cuttlebug for dry embossing

So this is what I came up with not too sure if it would be considered elegant? However i love the splashes of red against the black and white, very striking.

The second card is the same basic styling with a little added bling!! What a difference a little bling can make, takes on a whole new look. I love the square bling not too sure if you can tell in the photo but they are mirrored, looks very cool in real life. I got them from Just Brads and Eyelets

Our trip to the dentist went well yesterday, Megan has to see a pediatric dentist, she needs to be sedated for any real work, and she will be soon.....LOL! They found some cavities between her teeth so she will have to go back and be sedated for them to be able to do the work. The good news is that while they are in her mouth they are going to put a sealant on her teeth, now that they are all adult teeth it should help protect them from further cavities.

The good thing about going to the dentist in Kelowna is there is a Michael's there!! So i got to go to Michael's I wandered over to the lighting section and found all the OTT Lites at 40% off woohoo anyone wanting one now is the time!

Michelle has asked what I am going to do with the box I created yesterday well............ I will show you a little later today!! I found a perfect filling for the inside!

Supplies: Fancy pants stamps, Black, Real red and WW card stock, DP, Black ink, Copics, Label, Circle, slot and Oval punches Ribbon, Bling, Brads, and Dimensionals

Today's way to use challenge was to use wood, I had just bought this little wooden chest from the dollar store so this was a perfect challenge for me. I covered the box with brocade DP using modge podge to secure it. Sorry for the short post but I have to take Megan to the dentist in Kelowna, so I am off.

Supplies: Fabulous Flowers, Brocade paper, Chocolate chip craft ink, Clear EP, Bling, wooden chest, and dimensionals.

Pink Snowflakes

This card is a combination of yesterday's color challenge using pinks and today's sketch challenge. I love pink with snowflakes it's so pretty! The snowflakes were stamped on glossy paper and embossed with clear embossing powder, then i sponged on the pink. The pinks seem to be a better match in real life, I always find pink hard to photograph.

I just wanted give you all an update on my sister, there is still NO date for tests yet, we are becoming frustrated with the amount of time they are taking, please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Supplies: Snowflake spot, Pretty in pink Papertrey white, Glossy paper, DP, Pretty in pink, Versa mark, Clear embossing powder, Brads, ribbon and Dimesionals.

We also got this super cute card from Chelsey to congratulate us on the re-launching of Langley Bot Designs isn't she just the sweetest!! Check out her blog she is only 17 and such an awesome stamper One Canadian Chick

I was tagged by Paula at Paula Ponders to play The name game.

The NAME GAME. The name of the game is to list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life, for each letter of your middle name. If you don't have a middle name, use the name you would have liked to have had. When you are tagged you need to write your own blog post containing your middle name and game facts. At the end of your blog post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged and to read your blog.

My Middle name is Kora with a “K” see letter “R” for explanation…….LOL!

K : Kids I have 2 and they fill my heart with joy.

O : Opinionated, that is me……LOL! I love to share my opinion with anyone who will listen……unfortunately there is no one who wants to listen!

R : Rare if there is something rare it is my family I can’t tell you how many times I have heard the words “that should never have happened” or “I have never seen this before!

A : Autism a cause very near and dear to my heart, who knew such a little word could alter my world with such a a big bang…………I have learned so much from autism, things I can’t even begin to bring into words it should be Awe-tism!!

Now I get to choose 4 blogger to tag one for each letter of my middle name so I chose:

Tara at Tara's Paper Crafts

Michele at Thoughts of a Cardmaking Scrapbooker!

Nancy at Nancy's Creative Mess

and Tracy at Tracy's Happy Place

Believe

I made this card for today's limited supply challenge and in light of it being Breast Cancer Awareness I made a pink card for my sister who is waiting to under go tests for Inflammatory Breast Cancer.

I am so looking forward to the long weekend, no daycare kiddie for 3 days.....Yippie!! I hope I will be able to be in my studio all weekend! with no family near by Thanksgiving will be quiet around here, just us so it will be a pretty low key.

What are you doing for this Thanksgiving/Columbus Day weekend!

I just got this in an email, please help!!
Please tell ten friends to tell ten today! The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on their site daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on 'donating a mammogram' for free (pink window in the middle).

This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors /advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising.

Here's the web site! Pass it along to people you know.

Click Here to Give - it's FREE

AGAIN, PLEASE TELL 10 FRIENDS TO TELL 10 TODAY

Welcome to the Colony

here is another card using Langley Boy Designs "Getting Buggy With It" set now available through Gina K at Stamping Freak!! I just love the ants and they saying it fits perfect for welcoming new neighbors to the neighborhood! Which we just happen to have.

Thank you for all your care and concern for my sister, I talked at length with her last night she was going to go back to the Dr. today and ask for an ultrasound to get things moving. She lives in the Northwest Territories, so they usually have to travel for services but her town does have an ultrasound so while she is waiting to hear of the schedule for her tests in Yellowknife, she can be ruling out some other things. Unfortunately our medical system moves slow, so we will have to be a bunch of squeaky wheels. Please continue to keep Tanice in your thoughts and prayers and I will keep you updated with any information I get.

On another note because my blog was already pink, I am going to try to incorporate pink into all my cards for the month of October!

Supplies: Langley Boy Designs, Chocolate Chip and WW card stock, Basic gray Mellow DP, Black ink, Markers, Brads, scalloped circle punches, Corner rounder punch, Ribbon, and Dimesionals.
