Guava Iris

I made this card for today's sketch challenge, I LOVE this layout!!!! At first I was a little nervous about the layout but as the card came to fruition I feel in love with the layout. I love the iris from Flourishes done in this color!

My card is 8"x9 1/4" scored @ 4" and the scored 3/4" from the outside front panel and then folded back to show the inside of the card.

I will keep this short as I have a Dr's appointment in a half hour. But there is one thing I wanted to share before I go, my funny sleep last night.

OK so we were sleeping and I was having this dream that an eel jumped out of a fish tank and was trying to bite my feet.....eeeewwwwww!! I was so scared and flailing my legs about trying to not get bitten.

Next thing I hear is " WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?" At this point I woke up and Jason was saying What is wrong with you why did you kick me in my package (nuts). I immediately started laughing and apologizing and explained what had happened in my dream.

He went on to say he was having a totally unrelated dream when all of a sudden he had this pain which woke him up only to find out it was real pain......ROTFLMBO!!!!!

Supplies: Siberian iris, flourishes, fllc, groovy guava, always artichoke, white, secret garden dp, black ink copics, marker, brads, ribbon, lace and dazzling dianmonds.

Birthday Wishes

Wow, I am back.......LOL! Sorry for my long absence but I had some much needed spring cleaning to get to.

This color combo is from today's color challenge the challenge being to use purely pomegranate, soft sky and black together. I just love this color combo and thought it would make a pretty birthday card.

Not too sure if you can tell but there is a little stickles in the center of each flower making it sparkle just a bit.

Well I will keep this post short as I have two sick kids plus the daycare kiddie running around here today, and my closet is calling to be cleaned next!

Supplies: Piece of cake, butterfly kisses, purely pomegranate, soft sky, white and black cs, soft skt prints dp, purely pomegranate, soft sky and black inks, stickles, brads, ribbon.

One Boy, One Girl

He was holding her hand when the doctor looked up and grinned,
"Congratulations, twins"

One boy, one girl
Two hearts beating wildly
To put it mildly, it was love at first sight.
He smiled, she smiled, and they knew right away
This was the day they'd been waiting for all their lives,
And for a moment the whole world,
Revolved around one boy, and one girl

I love this song by Collin Raye and thought it was fitting for today's post......LOL!

These card were made for today's limited supply challenge the challenge was to:

1. Make a square card. (Any size)
2. Use only scrap pieces of paper. (The base card doesn't have to be a scrap.)
3. Use ribbon or fiber scraps.
4. Use only ONE other embellishment.
5. Use any colors, stamps, and tools.

I used scraps of my Daisy D's paper and cs except for the bade of the card. The ribbon was also from my scrap ribbon jars.

I don't actually know anyone who is having a baby right now, most of my friends are done having their children so I guess these will just go into my stash for now.

Each square is 1.5" x 1.5" with the total card being 5 .25 x5.25.

Supplies Girl: So many scallops, all in a row, pretty in pink, barely banana, mellow moss and white cs, Daisy d's dp, mellow moss and regal rose ink, ribbon, marker, square, circle and scalloped punches.

Supplies Boy: So many scallops, all in a row, bashful blue, bayou blue , sage shadow and white cs, Daisy d's dp, black, bayou blue, wild wasabi ink, ribbon, marker, square, circle and scalloped punches.

On Eagles' Wings

I really stepped out of my comfort zone today to create this card for the sketch challenge on SCS.
I have had my brayer for years, but honestly it never sees any ink.

I created the first panel using soft sky, bayou blue and not quite navy, this is my first time trying to create a sky like this, and I think it turned out okay. This is also the first time my On Eagles' Wings from Our Daily Bread designs has seen ink.

The image panel was created only using soft sky, followed by the eagle stamped with palette ink in burnt umber and finished off with the sentiment in black ink.

You should see my hands.......LOL!! Very bruised looking.....ROTFLMBO!! Thank you so much for all your well wished and healing thoughts regarding my ruptured ear drum Actually today is so much better then yesterday, it still hurts but it is no longer that blinding pain.

It was so nice to hear all about how spring is coming along in your areas, it helps me to be hopeful that we may join the ranks of spring too.

Supplies: On Eagles' wings, our daily bread designs, soft sky, not quite navy, black and white cs, soft sky, bayou blue, not quite navy, pumpkin pie, summer sun, burnt umber and black ink, brads, sponges, circle punch, brayer.

Cherry Blossoms

You would never guess that it was spring here, we are sooo cold and we got snow all weekend!! I hope the real spring comes out soon! We seems to be about 2 months behind.

Usually by mother's day the lilacs are all out and the cherry tress are in full bloom, the tree don't even have leaves yet!! My garden should be full of Hyacinths and tulips but it is showing nothing but dirt!!

How is spring in your area?

I made this card for today's color challenge, the challenge was to use pretty in pink, certainly celery, and chocolate chip together. I just love these colors on of my favorite all time color combos!

I seemed to have ruptured my ear drum, not too sure how but can you say OUCH!!!!! Ouuuwwweeeeeee!!! I was pretty much up all night with pain, I have to go to the pharmacy and see if they have some stronger painkillers.

Supplies: Out on a limb, papertrey, pretty in pink, certainly celery, and chocolate chip, and white cs, pretty in pink, certainly celery, and chocolate chip inks, cuttlebug, stickles, ribbon.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!! We got quite a bit of snow over the weekend, but it is all gone now thankfully!

Siberian Irises

I finally got my Siberian Irises set from Flourishes in the mail, I have been stalking the post man for the past 2 weeks!! Canada Posts seems to have come to a grinding halt lately, not too sure why but it feels like there maybe a strike in our future.

Anyhoo back to the card, I actually managed to do 2 challenges in one!! I made this for today's limited supply challenge, which was to make a long or tall card with no DP. I also managed to fit in Sharon's challenge to use black accents.

I also borrowed this color combo from Sharon's card!! Each of the Iris centers has a little dazzling diamonds, just to make them pop a bit, it looks very glittery in real life.

Thank Goodness It's Friday!!!! I am running out of steam for this week!!!

Frogs and Flowers

Just two quick cards for you today, I had made these card for the April Embellish it gallery, the theme being frogs and fun.

This happens to by my only frog stamp can you believe it?? I only have one!

This image is from Rubbernecker Stamps and is quite big. I used my copic marker to color it in.

I am so happy the weekend is just around the corner!! I love spending time with hubby especially when we have no agenda and we can just do whatever it is we please!

Stephanie is off to Family camp for the weekend, so it will just be us and Megan. Normally we all go to family camp but with my Dad's passing last year we don't have anyone to babysit our dogs, so we decide we would just stay home this year. Our friends were kind enough to let Stephaine stay with them during family camp so she doesn't miss out.

Supplies: Rubbernecker stamps, wild wasabi, bayou blue, white cs, two scoops dp, black ink, copics, brads, ribbon.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This was made using a Bella stamp. I just adore this sweet image, reminds of my girls when they were a bit younger!

When they were little and we went to the store I would sometimes opt to put them in the wagon instead of the stroller. which for the main part was fine until one day Megan decided that she didn't want anything to be in the wagon with and she kept throwing the groceries out of the wagon!!! Little stinker!!

Supplies: Bella stamps, pretty in pink, wild wasabi, white cs, two scoops dp, copics, cuttlebug, brads, ribbon, marker corner rounder punch

Life.....

Life..... is not measured by
the number of breaths we take,
but by the moments
that take our breath away.

What a beautiful sentiment!! Perfect for birthdays, graduations, sympathies, cheer you up or baby cards.

I made this card for today's TLC challenge, the challenge was to make a double pocket card. It was so easy to make and I just love the this style of double pocket card!

You will find the instructions on the link above, just click on TLC challenge.

I used Papertrey's Butterfly Kisses and Out on a Limb sets to make this card. I am loving this DP from SU's Bali breeze. Each flower center on the dp has a dot of stickles as do the large orange butterfly and all the small blue butterflies.

I am so on a butterfly kick right now, must be the feeling of spring in the air......LOL!

Supplies: Butterfly kisses, out on a limb, papertrey, only orange, tempting turquoise, white cs, bali breeze dp, vellum, only orange and tempting turquoise inks, stickles, ribbon, slot punch, rhinestone bling.

Our Daily Bread Designs

I hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend!! I know we are we just mostly vegged all weekend......so nice!! I however did get some stamping done.

All three of these cards use Our Daily Breads Design stamps from the The light of the world set.

I wanted each one to just have a verse yet be different from one another.

The first one I used my Bali breeze DP from SU to determine my color pallet I really like the contrast of these colors together, and each flower center has a little dot of stickles in the center to jazz it up some.

For the second card I wanted and elegant feel to to it so i chose to use my Secret Garden scrappin kit from SU the Guava and Artichoke are sooooo pretty together. I paired them with some gorgeous ribbons and pearl brads.

I am so sad they no longer sell this kit I would really like a few more sheets of the DP from the kit!

For the last card I wanted a care free feel to it something airy, light and happy. So Iused Basic Grey's Lily Kate DP paired with soft sky and certainly celery.

I used my corner rounder punch to create some scallops on the dp.

Supplies #1: Our daily bread stamps, tempting turquoise, only orange, white cs, bali breeze dp, tempting turquoise onk, marker brads, oval cutter, stickles.

Supplies #2: Our daily bread stamps, groovy guava, always artichoke, VV cs, secret garden simply scrappin kit, always artichoke ink, brads, ribbon.

Supplies #3: Our daily bread stamps, soft sky, certainly celery, white cs, lily kate dp, black ink, corner rounder, ribbon, cuttlebug.

I used Flourishes Damask (positive) for my background, and Wedding Party for my image and Wedding Essentials for my sentiment.

I added stickles to the dresses, flowers, bows in their hair and earrings. I love stickles!!!

I am sooooooooo happy the weekend is here, I feel like I could really use some downtime, from driving here and there and all the jazz I just wanna sit and stamp with no interruptions! KWIM?

Supplies: Wedding Party, Wedding Essentials, Damask, Flourishes, FLLC, Lovely lavender, elegant eggplant, green galore, and white cs, Black and elegant eggplant ink, stickles, copics, ribbon.

From This Day Forward

I made this card for today's way to use it challenge, the challenge was to find ways to use eyelets, I used my eyelets to lace my ribbon through my card.

I used Flourishes new set called Wedding Essentials for the sentiment and the flourishes on the on the card layer.

I realized while making this card that I don't really have any gold embellishments, and this is the only gold ribbon I have!! I need to find more gold ribbon!!

The Patterned paper is from Sandylion, it is absolutely breathtaking in person, I have it in two colors this rich brown and a slate like grey.

Supplies: Wedding Essentials, flourishes, Fllc, brown (unknown), gold cs, sandylion dp, gold ink, eyelets, ribbon, gold glimmer mist.

To One Person You May Be the World....

To the world you may be just one person, but to one person you may be the world.... I just love that sentiment and it is so true!

I made this for today's TLC challenge, the challenge was to use layered ribbon. I used a green and a pink satin ribbon that I ran through a slot on my image panel.

I love this Papertry set Out on a limb, it so remind me of cherry blossoms which should be blowing here in the next month or so. I get so excited to see all the pretty pink blossoms and become captivated by their fragrance.

I stamped my branches first, then the flowers followed by the single 3 leaf stamp, the centers each have a dot of Tutti frutti stickles in the center. Not too sure if you can tell but the celery layer has been run through the cuttlebug with the textiles embossing folder. I used my SU slot punch to create the slot for ribbon on the main image panel.

Well I am off to tidy the house after a relaxing weekned AKA very little house work down this weekend!

Supplies: Out on a limb. Papertrey, pretty in pink, certainly celery, close to cocoa, white cs, pretty in pink, certainly celery and close to cocoa ink, cuttlebug, stickles, brads, ribbon, slot punch.

Embrace.......

I made this card for today's limited supply challenge, the challenge was to use white and one other color, no neutrals. I chose to work with red I love how vibrant red is against white.

Happy Friday!!! OMW!! I am soooo happy it is Friday!!! It just feels like this week has dragged on and on. I have quite a few cards to make this weekend, so I am glad I spent the week running errands and spring cleaning.

I am so happy that Phoebe our youngest dog is out of heat, the poor thing she would have to wear diapers to bed I will post a picture sometime this weekend.

At first I wanted to breed her then I made the appointment to have her fixed, but she went into heat 2 days before her surgery so I canceled it (the vet said it is more dangerous for them to have the surgery when they are in heat). So now I don't know what I want to do! I know I would have to wait until her third heat cycle to breed her. Does anyone have any dog breeding stories to share?

Supplies: embrace life, real red, white cs, real red, black ink, cuttlebug, copics, brads, liquid pearls, ribbon.

Beautiful!

I made this card for today's way to use it challenge, the challenge was to use some rub ons. I love using rub ons on my cards!! I used the rub ons to create a trail behind the butterflies, and as the greeting. I used the sketch from yesterday's challenge.

The butterflies were stamped on vellum, I lined the bodies with rhinestone bling and used liquid peals to accent their wings.

I really love the color combo on this card celery and pomegranante compliment each other perfectly.

A questions was asked the other day about glimmer mist coming out heavy or blotchy.

I spray my glimmer mist in the air and move my card through the mist that way I only get a super fine mist, then I repeat as many times as I need too. I Hope that helps some.

Supplies: Butterfly kisses, papertrey, purely pomegranante, certainly celery, white cs, bali breeze dp, purely pomegranante ink, rub on, liquid pearls ribbon, rhinestone bling, marker.

Cheers

I made this card for today's sketch challenge using Flourishes men's wear set. I really liked this sketch perfect fit for the frosty beer mugs.

After coloring in the mugs with my copic markers I used liquid appliqué for the foam on the beer and crystal effects on the mugs.

Thank you for all your well wishes with my allergies, I just find I am so tired when they act up.

I am so happy that Criminal Minds is finally returning tonight after that horribly long writers strike!! I have missed getting my fix.

Well I better get moving I have DR. appointment very soon and i still need to get dressed!

Supplies: men's Wear, flourishes, fllc, sage shadow, creamy caramel, chocolate chip and white cs, cosmo cricket dp, clack and burnt umber ink, copics, brads, liquid appliqué, crystal effects
