Pot Lid Purse

I finally decide to try on these pot lid purses I have been seeing everywhere, I love it they are so cool! I uses a pot lid to trace a circle minus the bottom onto thin cardboard, like a cereal box, cut it out and used that template to cut, the paper I used 4 sheets of paper to make this bag , you will also need to cover the back of the circle too. Cut those circles out and glued all the paper onto the cardboard, then trimmed off and excess paper, used a oval punch to cut out a handle, the attached a lunch bag in the middle of the two sides, and embellished.

Supplies: Bodacious Bouquet, Recollections designer paper, Chocolate chip and VV card stock, Chocolate chip, Close to Cocoa and mellow moss ink, Cardboard, Ribbon, Dimensionals, Oval punch, lunch bag, pot lid.

Lilac Blossoms!!

Who doesn't love lilac blossom..........they smell so nice. Here where I live the grow in abundance, so in mid spring, our town is thick with the sweet fragrance of lilacs. So in anticipation of lilac season, I was inspired to make this card.

What grows in your towns? I'd sure like to know what your town has in abundance!

To make this card I marked one long end at 3" and the other side at 5.5", lined up the marks in the cutter and cut. So you would actually be cutting on a diagonal. Then I scored at 4.25" from the tall side, and scored again at 3.75" from the first score line not from the end. Then I used a piece of scrunched up plastic and Mellow Moss ink to sponge on the back ground color. Stamped the blossom and leave images, mounted on card stock and added ribbon!

Thank you to all for your wonderful suggestions on how to add to Dora to Megan's clothes, you came up with some super ideas!!

On another note I am on the hunt for some of those white target $1 spot mailboxes, I would like between 5-10, as we don't have a target here in Canada so if you can help drop me an email and let me know. Email can be found on the sidebar.

Supplies: Blossoms Abound stamps set, Lovely Lilac, VV, card stock, Lovely Lilac, Almost Amethyst, Old Olive, Mellow Moss, and Always Artichoke inks, Ribbon.

Dora and Backpack Join The Critters!

At the request of my sweet daughter Megan I took some time out from creating animals to create her a Dora and Backpack Nugget Critters. These were so fun to make and she just loves them! Megan is the biggest Dora buff! Everything Dora, bed, bedding, lunch kit, backpack, toys etc. Megan has autism, and by watching Dora she has learned so much that we could not have taught her as easily as Dora did! She has learned things like speaking in Spanish, what a red eyed tree frog is , before everything used to just be frog , and so much more!

So for giving my daughter that I say Thank You from the bottom of my heart to the creators of Dora the Explorer!

The only sad thing was the Megan grew out of all the Dora clothes they only go up to a size 6x so when we go shopping for clothes she is always so sad that all the Dora clothes are too small for her. It is the saddest thing ever to see her big green eyes well up with tears.

Double Scallop Fold

While checking out some SCS galleries I came a cross this layout here in ParisEstates Gallery Hang In there - Cover, so I had to try it for myself, I love the look of the double scallop, and will definitely use again.

The card measures 2 3/4 " by 5" . To make the scallop cut the extra piece that will become a second scallop to 2 3/4" that way it will fit inside the Giga Scallop punch, slip one side into the scallop and the other through the hole of the scallop so you are only cutting one side of your card stock, do the same with the folded tab of the card. Line up the scallops and attached with adhesive.

Well we are into our second week of Spring Break and I am so ready for the girls to go back to school! I love them but I also love my time alone and living in a clean house......LOL! Not to mention they are both hormonal and keep nipping at each other! I'm going to have to find something to do with them for the last days of Spring Break, this is when i miss having family live close by.

Supplies: Pretty in Pink, and Basic Grey Blush card stock, Small script stamps set, Chocolate Chip, and WW ink, Scalloped circle punch,Oval punches, Brad, Dimensional, and Velcro ( for closure *optional*)
