Halloween Peep Jars

This will be my last Halloween post I promise, I made these peeps jars for my Daughter's teacher I followed this recipe that I found on www.splitcoaststamper.com Ingredients in the Jar:

Reduce 1 sleeve graham crackers to crumbs or 1 1/3 cup and layer 2/3 of the crumbs in a 1 qt. jar.
Place 8 marshmallow bunny peeps standing up, facing out around the inside of the jar pressing them against the glass, but dont squash them.
Carefully, spoon remaining crumbs in the center of the jar to support the bunnies, pressing down to keep it snug.
On top of this pour 1½ c. Easter M&M's.
Spoon 1/3 c. br. Sugar into center of M&M's gently pressing with a spoon.
Decorate the lid of the jar however you please and tie curly ribbons around the neck of the jar.

Directions: Empty the jar contents into a bowl. Snip the bunnies into bits with kitchen sheers or cut up with a knife. Return the bunny bits to the mixture and mix well. Melt ½ cup and 2 tbsp . butter, add 1 t. vanilla. Pour this over the dry ingredients, mixing well. Pat into a greased 8x8 baking dish. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
*Option: leave the bunnies whole; combine remaining ingredients and place the bunnies on top; then bake as directed

I finished the jar off with Halloweenween fabric topper tied on with some black satin ribbon, and added the baking directions card.

The recipe card was sponged with elegant eggplant , night of navy and barely banana and then stamped the bats on. I then added the little bat from booglies on the corner of the card. I know the recipe card is a little large but, I wanted them to be able to read it without too much trouble. It has been so much fun doing Halloween projects , but I am so ready to move onto Christmas!!

Thanksgiving Day Card

I made this for a friend of mine, she had us over for Thanksgiving which was on October 9th here in Canada . I wasn't going to post this , wasn't totally thrilled with how it turned out . I used Bravo Burgundy as a card base , and layered with Creative Memories October paper . I used Halloween Hedgehogs and colored them in with Prismas pencils and added Primas and brads . I can't put my finger on it , but there is something that I'm not liking about it . My husband thinks I'm crazy for thinking this way , and my friend really seemed to like it , so maybe it's just me .

My Mummy

I thought I would try my hand at a mummy card,so I started with some very vanilla card stock, and wrapped it with gauze from the pharmacy, I had to go around a few times so it wasn't see through. I rolled up a ball of gauze applied adhesive to the back and shoved it under the layers of gauze to form a nose. I used creamy caramel to sponge the edging of the layers for a more aged look, and added the googlie eyes. The last step was to adhere it to a card front.

Booglie Breakdown!

This card was a total case for Barbra1224's card on SCS, I had so much fun making this card I just love the booglie eyes guys! This was my first attempt at sponging and masking, I guess I was always a little intimidated by it, but it really was very easy first stamped on the booglies masking each one and stamping the next one on, then I sponged on the moon and masked it off as well. Next I sponged the ground and skyline, stamped the trees and bats and voila I was done all except the coloring which I used the gamasol technique for, again this was my first attempt so be gentle. The orange matting is stamped with bats from SU Halloween BG set, added some ribbon and glued on some googlie eyes in two different sizes.I have since made a few of these and they are now making their way to a few lucky mailboxes!

I decided to try a nugget box, I used the instructions found at splitcoaststampers, I wanted to make one for a birthday gift so I chose the 16 Nugget Box dimensions. I used Roses in Winter with some purple hues, and stamped the words Happy Birthday on address labels and applied them to the nuggets. The photo is not the best quality it was rather dark so I had to edit it a lot to lighten it up so the colors are a bit off.

Shannon's Birthday Card and 3x3 Box

Shannon is one of the ladies that work with my youngest daughter, today is her birthday and I wanted to do something special for her. I made her a 3x3 box filled with four 3x3 cards I found the instructions on SCS, for the 3x3 box, I am pretty happy with my first attempt, but would like another go round at it now that I understand the process. Funny I started out wanting a lilac feel and ended up with something totally different once it came to making the cards, and the actual birthday card is so different from the rest. For the birthday card I used treat yourself from SU I have had this set for about a year now but this is the first time I used it. Here are some pic's of the birthday ensemble.

Mini Hershey Tote

These are the treats our tricker treaters will be getting this year, I got the instruction on the SCS website and altered them slightly to fit my need.

Here's how: Cut c/s 8 1/2" x 2 1/8". Score at 3/8" along both long sides to create the sides and at 4 1/16" from each end to create the bottom. Decorate as desired.

To create the handles: measure down 1 1/4" from each end and draw small lines from the edges of the c/s to the score lines on each of the sides (two sides on both ends). Trim away the side portions above these marks, cutting on the mark and along the score lines.

To form the bottom: cut in from the edges at the score lines which form the bottom, stopping at the score lines which form the sides. Snip away a small wedge at the bottom edges of the sides.

Forming the handles: I punched a large circle and used it as a guide to round off the top the used a smaller circle to punch finger holes. To add the tag I used a small hole punch and feed ribbon through to tie on tag.

Ghost Graveyard

This is my little weekend project, the little ghosts are suckers with white cotton fabric on them and then tied with some hemp. I used carved and candlelit for the pumpkins, and Halloween backgrounds for the bats and spider. The headstone were just cut by hand and stamped with a small ABC set that I have.

What my DH made this weekend

Video of the diorama This is a video of a diorama that my husband made this weekend while we crafted together . He had the idea while looking at an empty prima flowers case . He used the empty box cut out the front , made a cylinder out of window sheets , stamped colored and cut out all the booglie eyed characters glued them onto the cylinder with a skewer down the middle to make the dancing characters . He then used Lovely as a tree set for the background . He hand drew the fire from a stamp he saw on some other site .

After that project was done he made another project while I worked on my own . It was a paint can that resembled a penguin for a container to hold these toques that look like little penguins he loves to make so much , here's what the can and the toques look like together .
