I LOVE chocolate too! It's one of my escapes . . . stamping being another one! They combine very well! LOL I love turtles . . . the candy, not the reptile!

However, I thought it would be fun to share a recipe, so here is something I was craving yesterday!

Grandma's Hot Fudge Sauce

1/2 cup margarine
2 squares choc. or 2 Tbl cocoa
2 cups sugar
1 can evaporated milk
1 tsp vanilla

Melt margarine, add chocolate and melt. Add remaining ingredients. Cook over medium to low heat for about eight minutes. Add vanilla. Serve with your favourite ice cream!

I have great memories of my Grandma bringing this whenever we made homemade ice cream!

Thanks for the chance to enter your give-away!

I am an absolute chocolate fanatic! At Christmas time, I love Mint Hershey Kisses. I can absolutely eat a whole bag watching a movie. Now I try to leave them in the kitchen so I have to walk to the kitchen to get more ;o) I can only find them at Christmas so I suppose that is a good thing!

A favorite recipe of mine is:

Chocolate Delight

Crust: 1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup flour
3/4 cup nuts, finely chopped

Preheat oven to 350. Grease 13x9 inch baking dish. Mix ingredients together. Press into the baking dish. Bake 10-15 minutes. Remove from oven and cool.

Filling: 1 cup powdered sugar
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
12 ounces Cool Whip
2 - 4 1/2 ounce packages instant chocolate pudding
3 cup milk
1/4 cup chopped nuts

Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar and half of the Cool Whip together. Pour over cooled crust. Make up pudding with milk and pour over cream cheese mixture. Put remaining Cool Whip on top of pudding and sprinkle nuts on top over Cool Whip.

It is delish!
Love your blog! Keep up the beautiful work!

Your blog candy looks absolutely FABULOUS!! My all-time favorite chocolate is still chocolate covered strawberries. You can go to SAM'S Club and buy enormous strawberries right now. Bring them home, wash them up. All you need to do is purchase Choco-Dip. You throw it in the microwave for about 1 minute. Dip your strawberries in them and set them on wax paper until set. You have such a suculent desert for your and your husband or significant other to share. Or you can keep them all to yourself. There is nothing better than the taste of chocoloate with sweet strawberries!! YUM YUM YUM

My favourite easiest recipe is Tiger Butter. I'm more a white choc. fan.

It's super easy, melt 1 lb. wh. choc. mix with about 1 cup pb. spread on a wax paper. Melt a couple ounces dr. choc. and drizzle and swirl on the white, making it look all stripy. Cool. Break into pieces, eating small, ugly pieces while you do it. Freezes well too, if there is any left. Did I mention I do it in the microwave?

My favorite chocolate treat is what we call Chocolate Overdose. I sent it in to a recipe contest from Taste of Home and it was published in the 1999 Quick Cooking Annual Recipes Book.

They changed the name... to Double Chocolate Bars.... not sure why, but it is still fabulous. If you have that cookbook you can find it on page 85 in the lower left column.

Here is the recipe:

1 pkg (16 oz.) Oreos - crushed
3/4 cup butter or margarine -melted
1 can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
2 cups (12 oz) mini semi sweet chocolate chips - divided.

Combine cookie crumbs and melted butter and pat into the bottom of an ungreased 13 x 9 baking pan. Combine Eagle Brand Milk and 1 cup of chocolate chips in glass bowl and microwave until chips are melted, stirring occasionaly until smooth. Pour melted mixture over crumb crust. Top with remaining chocolate chips. Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 10 - 12 minutes. Cool before cutting.

Give these a try! They are to die for!

Wow!! Your blog candy looks awesome!!

One of my favorites is this one:
White Chocolate Mix
*Golden Grahams Cereal
*Cranraisins
*Any mixure of nuts - I like to use the no name trail mix(peanuts, pine nuts, cashews, raisins, ets) from Superstore as it does not have any salt in it, but you can use whatever mixture you like
*White Chocolate - again I like to use the bulk chunks from Superstore as it is pretty cheap

*mix the first three together...melt the chocolate in the microwave and pour it over the mixture...mix it all together until it is covered completely...place it onto a baking sheet and place it into the freezer to let it set...crumble and put into a serving dish or place it into a freezer safe container and save it for a later date(ya right!!)

***Warning: it is highly addictive***

2 C. Cool Whip
Powdered Sugar
Preheat oven to 350. Mix cake mix, egg & Cool Whip. Spray the palm of your hand with Pam Cooking Spray. Take a heaping teaspoon of dough, place in your hand & roll into a ball; then roll in powdered sugar. Place on cookie sheet sprayed with Pam & bake 8-10 minutes. The bottom should be lightly browned & the cookie still soft. When cool they will be chewy. (A good recipe for kids to make!)

It would be hard to only pick one favorite. I haven't tasted anything with chocolate in it that I have not liked. Here is a special brownie recipe that is soooo good you will be making batch after batch for family and friends.
The secret is in the hammer action BG!!

Nettie's Best Brownie Ever Recipe
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoon vanilla
4 eggs slightly beaten
1/2 cup cocoa unsweetened
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup flour
1- 8 oz . semi-sweet chocolate (coarsely ground)*
1 cup nuts optional
Heat oven to 350...butter a 9x13 pan. In med saucepan over low heat, melt sugar and butter. Add vanilla and eggs, Blend well. Mix dry ingredients together...slowly add to above mixing well after each addition.Add chocolate mix till just melted. Pour into prepared pan bake for 30 to 40 min or until set. cool pop out of tray and cut

I place squares in a ziploc making sure they lie flat...and on flat surface pound with a hammer.careful to make sure to keep hammer flat so it doesn't puncture bag

Also, its best to use a throw away pan, chill them in the freezer for a bit ,pop them out and cut them.

I've actually got 2 favourite chocolate recipes. The first one is easy-peasy!
Chocalote Bark
Melt a bag of chocolate chipits.
Add some stuff to it - like crushed up candy cane or walnuts or pecans.
Then pour it onto wax paper lined cookie sheet.
Put it in the fridge to cool and then break it up and eat it!

The second one is a little more work but it's a CROWD pleaser - great for family picnics or soccer and baseball wrap up parties.

Texas Sheet Cake

Sift:
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 tsp salt

Bring to a boil, then add cocoa:
1 cup water
2 sticks butter
4 tbsp Fry's cocoa powder

Beat in small bowl:
2 eggs
1 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup milk
1 tbsp vinegar

Combine (when butter mixture coolish) and pour into deep greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 for 20 min.

Icing:
1 stick butter
6 tbsp milk
3 cups icing sugar
1 tbsp vanilla
1/2 cup chopped pecans (I use a little more)
4 tbsp Fry's cocoa (I use a little more)

Boil the butter and milk, then add cocoa. Remove from heat and add the rest. Pour over cake. ENJOY!

Kelly I just noticed that you are in BC. I am too and recently heard of a Belgian chocolatier in Abbotsford named Wim Tas. You really should check out his website http://chocolatas.com/

He's got a ladies shoe made out of chocolate for Valentine's!

Apparently it is REAL HIGH GRADE chocolate made without preservatives. He's very picky about where he sells it since it needs to be kept in a chocolate COOLER or it will spoil (do you have a chocolate cooler in your home?). The only retail place that sells it is Family Gourmet in the Royal Centre downtown.

How about that for chocolate snobbery!

My favorite chocolate is orange milk chocolate but I sure wouldn't turn up my nose at any milk chocolate tho. I quit baking because hubby is a diabetic and has a sweet tooth bigger than a house so it is better not to have it around. Love your blog. Great recipes being posted too.

My favourite chocolate recipe is...wait have to pick a favourite? That's like trying to pick a favourite child! All right if I must...It's called the "texas brownie." It's a combination of a sheet cake and brownie. Really simple make and serves a large number!

Thanks for the offer of blog candy!
